I am interested in the structure, evolution and function of proteins. Specific areas of investigation include:
Molecular Motors - deciphering allosteric mechanisms in kinesin, myosin and dynein that underlie intracellular transport.
Bioinformatics - developing computational methods to probe sequence, structure, function relationships in biomolecules.
Molecular Simulation - studying the dynamics and thermodynamics of proteins and their complexes.
You can find out more about my current projects here.
I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow with Prof. Andrew McCammon at the University of California, San Diego. My previous education includes:
PhD. Doctorate Degree in Chemistry from the University of York and the Marie Curie Research Institute, England.
MRes. Masters Degree in Bioinformatics from the University of York, England.
BSc(Hons). Bachelors Degree in Biochemistry from Queen's University, Belfast, N.Ireland.
